Concealed Carry Information - Alaska

It is important for Concealed Firearm license/Permit holders to understand that when they are traveling in or through another state, that they are subject to the firearm laws of that state. The links provided below (click on the state name you wish to view) is for INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES only so that you can start research of the states you wish to travel through or to.  It is in the best interest for you to verify the state laws and to contact the proper licensing/permitting authorities of the respective state that you wish to carry a concealed firearm; prior to traveling to or through those states.

Alaska's laws do not prohibit anyone 21 or older who may legally possess a firearm from carrying it concealed. A special permit is not required.

Alaska's laws do not apply to other states. Alaska residents may obtain a concealed carry permit if they want to travel to other states with which Alaska has reciprocity agreements. Click Outside of Alaska for expanded information
 

Alaska Statute 18.65.748 states that a person holding a valid permit to carry a concealed handgun from another state or a political subdivision of another state is a permittee under AS 18.65.700 (b) for purposes of AS 18.65.750 - 18.65.765. All other Alaska statutes apply to the permit holder. Permit holders must be 21 years old or older to be valid in Alaska.
